European hospitals, including the Netherlands, may have been affected by the pro-Russian hacking group Killnet. This group has announced DDoS attacks on hospitals in countries that are helping Ukraine in its war against Russia.
NCSC is in contact with its national and international cooperation partners, monitors the situation and monitors the activities of the Killnet hacking group. NCSC has also released various knowledge products that can help mitigate DDoS attacks (see downloads below). Z-CERT, as a health CERT, coordinates the situation with the involved parties and conducts continuous monitoring.
Currently, DDoS attacks are successfully mitigated and the impact of the attacks is limited. Hacktivist-motivated digital attacks fit within the threat scenarios described in the CSBN.
